This class is designed for Kindergarten and First grade students. It is a misconception that young, budding artists are 'just kids' that don't care about art supplies. They deserve professional artists' brushes, and not the terrible yellow brush that comes in popular watercolor sets. They DO care when I teach how important those tools are, and how to take care of them. Kids LOVE responsibility and growing up!
In this class, students will draw beautiful flowers from life. The difference between 'looking' and observing is what makes us artists. Students will draw every stem, leaf, vein, pedal, pistil, or stamen, and understand what they are drawing. Slowing the pace at which young artists work is very important to ensure success in new territory.
Finally, we will learn about watercolors, how to use them, and which brushes to choose and when, as we paint the most careful work of these little artists' lives!
