Have you been working in watercolors and you’re looking to up your painting skills? Do you love painting flowers!? Then this is the class for you! I cannot tell you how many requests we have received to offer watercolor classes, and now we have the chance to offer a guest instructor, Sarah M Johnson, who is a working artist herself !
Watercolors can be taken for granted as they are used as a popular medium, but at their heart, they are still about drawing and a fine art. You will learn to create the light and dark values of your composition by controlling your water ratio as well as using glazing. Glazing is the technique of layering color upon color to create depth. We will begin to talk about professional watercolor brushes, paints, and paper, and how to use them. The beauty of this class is that these new skills are built upon what you already know!
Students will be developing one watercolor painting over four class periods. A step-by-step process will help you to create a realistic bouquet of flowers. Demos and studio class structure allow for individualized instruction as well.
We sincerely hope that you can take advantage of this opportunity! Please join us to enter a new stage of your painting career!
